Intel® Ethernet

Intel® Ethernet

Intel is the industry leader in Ethernet controllers and adapters with a broad product portfolio and over 25 years experience delivering connectivity that IT customers depend on.

Products

Intel® Ethernet Controllers

Intel offers a complete line of industry-leading, single- and multi-port Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet controllers that support advanced features for I/O virtualization and unified networking. These controllers provide high performance, low power consumption, and a smaller footprint to enable faster, smaller, and simpler designs.

Intel® Ethernet Server Adapters

Intel® Ethernet Gigabit Server Adapters are compatibility tested thoroughly and available in many different configurations to meet your server’s network connectivity requirements.

  • Gigabit Ethernet
  • Intel Ethernet Gigabit Server Adapters are available in both copper and fiber models and in single- to quad-port configurations. Key features include optimizations for virtualization and iSCSI.

  • 10 Gigabit Ethernet
  • Intel® Ethernet 10 Gigabit Server Adapters are available in both copper and fiber models and in single- and dual-port configurations. Greater bandwidth allows you to consolidate multiple Gigabit Ethernet connections. Key features include optimizations for virtualization and unified networking, including iSCSI and FCoE.

Intel® Ethernet Desktop Adapters

Award-winning line of desktop adapters. Choose from a variety of adapters designed to extend Gigabit Ethernet performance to the desktop, enhance desktop management, and provide flexible connectivity for your legacy PCs.

Technologies

10 Gigabit Ethernet

10 Gigabit connectivity provides greater bandwidth while reducing the number of server adapters and switch ports and the amount of cabling required for LAN connectivity. 10 Gigabit is the foundation for the next evolutionary stage in networking, in which Ethernet will extend its reach in the data center.

Intel® Virtualization Technology for Connectivity (Intel® VT-c)

Intel® Virtualization Technology for Connectivity is a collection of I/O virtualization technologies that lowers CPU utilization, reduces system latency, and improves networking and I/O throughput.

Unified Networking

Intel’s unified networking solutions enable cost-effective connectivity to the LAN and the SAN on the same fabric; customers can use NAS, iSCSI, or Fibre Channel over Ethernet to carry storage traffic over Ethernet. These solutions help simplify the data center network to reduce equipment needs and costs.

iWARP

iWARP (Internet Wide Area RDMA Protocol) is a set of IETF-approved standards that implements RDMA (Remote Direct Memory Access) on top of standard TCP/IP. This enables standards-based Ethernet to provide ultra-low latency performance that is typically offered by proprietary clustering fabrics.
